Dr. Tom Moonen & Dr. Jordan Millar
Dr. Tom Moonen attended the University of British Columbia for his undergraduate sciences and dental degree (DMD). He then practiced dentistry for 2 years in Vancouver. Dr. Moonen returned to school to pursue his Graduate Orthodontic Degree (MClD) at the University of Western Ontario. He returned home to Vancouver where he has been practicing on the North Shore since 1991. He opened his practice in Westview in 1997.
Dr. Moonen grew up in Vancouver, but his family moved to Vancouver Island during his final years in high school. He enjoys spending time with his wife, the Victoria Symphony Orchestra’s conductor, and their two sons, Matthew and Benjamin. The family enjoys skiing and traveling.
Dr. Moonen is a clinical assistant professor at the University of B.C. and has taught there for 9 years. He is the past-president of the B.C. Society of Orthodontists and a member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontics and Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics. He is also a member of the Seattle Study Club which focuses on interdisciplinary dentistry and has lectured to local and international audiences.
Dr. Jordan Millar attended Queen’s University in Kingston, ON where she received her Bachelor of Science (BScH) in Life Sciences. Dr. Millar then attended the University of British Columbia where she received her dental degree (DMD). She completed her orthodontic training at the University of Southern Califnornia (MS). Dr. Millar has been working with Dr. Moonen since 2007.
Born and raised in West Vancouver, she attended French immersion and graduated from Sentinel Secondary School. She was a competitive figure skater right through her undergraduate years. Today, she enjoys running and baking and with her husband, they enjoy snowboarding and traveling. Recently, she ran the San Diego half-marathon to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and hiked Mount Kilimanjaro (19,340 ft.) with her family.
In keeping with the highest of professional standards, Dr. Millar is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics. She is also a member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontics and Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics.
